Professor Susan Sawyer

Professor Susan Sawyer holds the Geoff and Helen Handbury Chair of Adolescent Health in the Department of Paediatrics, The University of Melbourne. A paediatrician, her clinical, research, education and advocacy efforts have helped to develop the field of adolescent health and medicine in Australia and increasingly internationally. She has longstanding research interests in sexual and reproductive health of patients with Cystic Fibrosis, cancer, and disability. She is the immediate past president of the International Association for Adolescent Health, chair of the International Paediatric Association special advisory group on Adolescent Medicine, and chair of the Australian Network of WHO Collaborating Centres.
