Professor Angie Doshani

Prof Angie Doshani is a consultant in obstetrics and gynaecology at the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust UK. She has contributed to women’s health locally, nationally, and internationally. She leads a research program into ethnicity, aiming to reduce inequalities in health. Her current research programs include exploring Black mothers’ experiences of maternity care and those caring for them, aimed at improving experiences, engagement, and perinatal outcomes. She is the inventor of the “JanamApp”. This app aims at providing culturally sensitive and linguistically appropriate pregnancy and postnatal information in 5 different south Asian languages, empowering women to make informed decisions about their care.
She has successfully obtained a place in the highly competitive “NHS clinical entrepreneurship program” in 2023.
She is passionate about education and has taken on various educational leadership roles within undergraduate and postgraduate education over the last two decades. As Head of year three at Leicester Medical School, and Associate Postgraduate Dean HEEM (Higher Education England East Midlands 2019), she has shown commitment to delivering quality education to develop skilled and competent doctors to meet current and future global health needs.
She holds several national roles as Assessor RCOG UK for the Advisory Appointment Committee (AAC), Examiner Part 3 MRCOG (RCOG UK), and GMC Enhanced Monitoring Associate.
She is currently enhancing her coaching skills to build a coaching culture within organisations, supporting individuals’ and teams’ personal and professional development to be the best version of themselves.
