Magdalena (Magda) Jurczuk was the OASI2 research fellow at the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG). She has a Master’s in Public Health from the Tulane School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine in New Orleans, where she focused on international health and development. She spent nearly three years managing an implementation science project to reduce cervical cancer rates in the Peruvian Amazon via contextualised design, implementation, testing and adaptation of an early detection and treatment programme. Since moving to the UK, she has been involved in the OASI2 project, a study focused on how to scale up the evidence-based OASI Care Bundle to reduce women’s risk of severe tearing during childbirth. Magda is passionate about women’s health, quality improvement, health communications and bridging the gap between evidence and practice through multidisciplinary working and sustainable intervention design.
