Dr Santanu Acharya

Santanu is Person Responsible, Ayrshire Fertility Unit, University Hospital Crosshouse and
Honorary Clinical Associate Professor, University of Glasgow. He holds many college appointments including
UK Clinical Lead for Essential Gynaecological Skills project (Bangladesh). He is co-convenor, MRCOG 2 courses and sits on
Standard-setting subcommittee,
Disciplinary, Removal & Reinstatement Committee (DRRC),
MRCOG 3 Examination subcommittee, RCOG Advisory Appointments Committee (AAC) He also holds key GMC positions as a Performance Assessor (Fitness to Practise panel), Expert Witness & PLAB Examiner.
Medicolegal expert at Central Legal Office Scotland, Fellow of Faculty of Expert Witnesses. He is an active member in the NHS Research Scotland Reproductive Health and Childbirth advisory group, Fertility Scotland National Network & invited member, National Fertility Group (Scottish Government). He is the recipient of Paul Harris Fellowship by Rotary International for his work in underprivileged nations.
