Dr Nia Jones

Nia Wyn Jones qualified as a medical doctor with a first class honours degree at the UWCM, Cardiff in 1998. From an inspired teacher in O&G an interest in feto-maternal medicine followed. Nia completed postgraduate qualifications in medicine (MRCP 2002) and O&G (MRCOG in 2008) followed by the award of a PhD in 2011 on the subject of ‘Modern imaging techniques to study placentation’. She currently works as a clinical academic and sub-specialist in feto-maternal medicine in Nottingham. Research interests focus around pregnancy and include placental pathology. intrapartum care, Diabetes, imaging (USS and MRI) and care of women with vulnerabilities.
