Dr Laura Hipple

In 1993, post-MRCOG, Laura made a positive decision to step out of training and has developed her career in O and G as a SAS Doctor since then. She has been an Associate Specialist in North Cumbria since 2003, where she is currently also their SAS doctor lead.
She has been on Council since 2018, when she was appointed as RCOG National SAS/LE doctor Lead. She is a former Vice Chair of the AoMRC SAS Committee.
Laura has worked in our specialty for over 30 years, including more than 20 years resident on-call experience. She has a Diploma in Advanced Obstetric Ultrasound and helped to establish an early pregnancy clinic in Carlisle and to introduce scanning into local fertility clinics, eventually leading fertility services in Carlisle.
She provided medical leadership for antenatal screening in North Cumbria and chaired cross-site multi-disciplinary antenatal screening and pregnancy loss groups. She has been an RCOG recruitment champion, Special Skills Modules preceptor, educational supervisor, ultrasound trainer and examiner, a local PI for national research projects and a Trust appraiser and SAS Tutor.
She is passionate about releasing the potential of all our O and G workforce and restoring joy and wellbeing in the workplace.
