Mr Matthew Jolly

Matthew was appointed NHS England’s National Clinical Director: maternity and women’s health in 2015. He is an experienced obstetrician who is committed to providing personalised and safe care and the strategic improvement of maternity services. In 2016 Matthew was appointed one of two National Maternity Patient Safety Champions along with Jacqueline Dunkley-Bent (Chief Midwifery Officer).
Matthew has provided clinical leadership to the Maternity Transformation Programme and has played key roles in many projects including the Saving Babies Lives Care Bundle, the Clinical Negligence Scheme for Trusts Maternity Incentive Scheme, The National Maternity Dashboard and the implementation of Networked Maternal Medicine.
