Graduated from Allama Iqbal Medical College, Lahore, in 1985, Fellowship in Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Diploma in Health Professionals Education. Awarded FRCOG ad eundem for work on maternal & neonatal health by RCOG.
Over 25 years of teaching experience in OBYGN & medical education, conducting workshops & trainings and working in the public health domain of OBGYN. Experience of working in Services Institute of Medical Sciences & Postgraduate Medical Institute, in various teaching capacities. Served as director medical education. Currently working as professor and consultant at Hameed Latif Hospital, an affiliate of Rashid Latif Medical College.

- Pioneer of Kangaroo Mother Care in Pakistan. Established 46 KMC centres.
- Lead of “Mehfooz Maa” initiative (PPH Bundle approach)
- PPIUD initiative at SIMS
- Training of HCP on gender-based violence, EmOC
- “Save the mothers project” with FIGO in district Kasur.
- Postgraduate course for trainees for thirty years.
